We enjoy our holiday at the Anassa Hotel so much that we have gone back there a few times, intent on having a very relaxing time and barely venturing out to explore nearby areas.
In 2012 we did go inland to the village of Phyti, which is renowned for its weaving.  There they raise their own silk worms to produce the silk thread, which they spin and dye to create pieces of traditional design.  Sadly, as is so often the case, it is a craft that is dying out as the younger generations are not interested in continuing it.
