"Lo Scoglio Laura"

It's the same view as previous years, but this time it's my own interpretation of that view - and it felt very warm sunny as I worked on it in an autumnal studio!

The weather was so wonderful this year that we only went on one jaunt - to the Byzantine catherdral of Monreale, which we first visited in 2005.

Mosiac of St Peter in a side apse

Wonderful, huge 12th century bronze cathedral doors (called La Porta del Paradiso) at Monreale. (John gives you an idea of their size!)

Looking back out of the doorway

A wedding was about to be celebrated when we were there, and the catherdral looked even more magnificent with all the flowers.

I just love Adam and Eve with the serpent - it really is whispering 'sweet nothings' in her ear! All the mosiacs also date from the 12th century

Adam tills the soil, while Eve leaves her spinning to weep quietly
